With no joint there is nothing to close on the bars, nothing to rise towards the palate and nothing to pinch at the lips, and rein pressure is spread across the full width of the tongue. A stainless steel wire core runs through the whole length, so under contact the bar takes a shallow curve and follows the shape of the tongue rather than bridging across it.

Cheek piece. The bit ring is fixed to the mouthpiece and does not rotate. This prevents pinching of the lips, gives a solid feel against the side of the face and prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower than a loose ring and light poll pressure is introduced. A fixed cheek sits closely to the lips and encourages flexion. Paired with an unjointed leather mouthpiece, nothing in this bit moves and nothing in it is hard, which is why it is the one to reach for when a mouth needs a complete rest.

Imported

8254.

Premier Equine Int.
