The Role: Senior Product Design and Development Manager

This is a rare opportunity to join Premier Equine International as a Senior Product Design and Development Manager. Reporting directly to the Head of Design, you will play a pivotal role in creating innovative, high-performance equestrian collections. This includes leading the design of clothing, footwear, and equestrian essentials in collaboration with world-class designers and suppliers, shaping collections that seamlessly combine performance, style, and sustainability. 

Your Responsibilities

Collaborative Design Process:

 • Work closely with the Head of Design to develop sketches and detailed tech packs for seasonal collections. 
• Assist in implementing colour palettes, seasonal themes, and overarching creative direction. 
• Collaborate globally with elite designers and suppliers, integrating diverse perspectives to create market-leading designs. 

Development and Coordination: 
• Partner with Merchandising, Product Development, and Marketing teams on fabric innovations, technical fabric selection, and product promotions. 
• Oversee fittings and ensure designs progress smoothly from concept to production, liaising with internal and external stakeholders. 
• Manage style, collection, and mood boards to align with the brand’s seasonal vision. 

Execution and Quality:
• Assist in sample management, showroom setups, and preparations for in-house and external productions, including photo shoots.
• Contribute to the development of best-selling products and identify growth opportunities in collaboration with the Head of Design. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 
• Establish strong relationships with Marketing, Sales, and Technical Support teams to ensure smooth communication and execution. 
• Support daily communication with global and cross-functional partners, integrating feedback and ideas seamlessly. 

Creative Contribution:
• Create sketches and CAD designs for final approval by the Head of Design. 
• Stay informed on sportswear trends, emerging technologies, and design inspirations to drive future collections. 

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a collaborative and visionary leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and balances technical expertise with creative innovation. 

Your Skills and Expertise: 
• Experience: Over 10 years in the sports fashion or luxury equestrian sector, with a portfolio showcasing successful product launches. 
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field. 
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and strong computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint. 
• Packaging Design Knowledge: Expertise in material selection, sustainability considerations, and structural engineering for durable, visually appealing, and eco-friendly packaging solutions. 
• Creative Vision: A keen eye for detail and a passion for blending functionality with timeless equestrian style. 
• Team Player: Ability to collaborate with the Head of Design, mentor design assistants, and foster cross-departmental teamwork. 
• Execution Focused: Confident in fittings and skilled at managing designs through to production. 
• Presentation Skills: Impeccable written and verbal communication abilities.
• Flexibility: Willingness to travel as needed to support business needs and promote collections.
